Safari Stories Week

Come along on a virtual safari with Page Turner Animal Adventures! This eight week program will feature a different theme each week. Videos, once posted, will be available through September 7th.

Comedy storybook theater, guest performers, virtual field trips, author visits, puppets, crafts, recipes, and games will be part of the fun! The events and activities were designed with Grades K-3 in mind, but many are great for all ages. You can watch the videos any day of the week, once posted. (We are putting all of them on Fridays to avoid overfilling the calendar.)

Here are the Safari Stories Week event and activity videos. They will remain on the calendar through September 7th.

SHOW DAY: What animal eats upside down? Can you pronk like a springbok? What animals never fart? These questions and more will be answered during Sofa Safari, the interactive game show that takes you on a safari without leaving your sofa!

GUEST DAY: Every animal needs a superpower to survive. Cheetahs have speed, chameleons have camouflage and birds have flight. Meet real live animal superheroes in this “wild” program with Teachers of Nature.

ILLUSTRATOR DAY: Illustrator David DePasquale will share his debut picture book, A Wisdom of Wombats, about the wonderful words we use to describe groups of animals. David is also the lead character designer on Arlo the Alligator Boy, a new Netflix movie available now! Grab a pencil and paper because David will teach you how to draw Arlo!

GUEST DAY: Get ready for a roaring good time when Jim Hammond, puppet master from The Lion King, shares some backstage secrets, and teaches us the five steps to becoming a fantastic puppeteer. Stay tuned til the end of this video to learn how to make your own “peeper puppets” just like Jim’s.
