Chess Instruction with Chess Scholars (Beginner)

Grades K-8 without parent/caregiver

No previous chess knowledge is necessary. Each session will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time.

Chess Scholars is returning to teach chess to beginning players. Please read the class description to verify you are signing up for the appropriate level:

Beginners: No previous chess knowledge is necessary.

Advanced: A basic knowledge of piece movement is recommended. Students will learn about controlling the center, taking the initiative, and attacking in combination.

Required registration is limited to EGVPL cardholders and begins Friday, December 19, 9am. If space is available, non-cardholders may register 3 days prior to the start of the event.
