You'll be seeing spots after exploring this cool cat!

Today is International Clouded Leopard Day! Join us on a virtual safari to learn more about this beautiful animal. Click on the blue highlighted text for links to videos, books, activities and additional information.

Clouded leopards are medium-sized wild cats. They get their name from the cloud-like spots on their fur coat. Learn more about the cool cat body parts of two clouded leopard brothers, Riki-san and Haui-san, at the San Diego Zoo.

Clouded leopards live in the Southeast Asian countries of India, China, Thailand, Laos, Nepal and Vietnam. They prefer tropical and sub-tropical evergreen forests and spend much of their time climbing trees.

Watch this amazing footage of the beautiful clouded leopard in the wild, living among the trees in Southeast Asia.

Unfortunately, clouded leopards are listed as vulnerable by the World Wildlife Federation. They have very large canine teeth and can be extremely dangerous, but it looks like they are extremely comfortable around Australian big cat expert, Giles Clark!

Would you like to learn more about clouded leopards and how zoos are helping their population to grow? With your EGVPL card, download the read-along ebook, "Raising Clouded Leopards" by Lisa MacDonald from Hoopla Digital.

Take a look at these cute clouded leopard cubs born at the Houston Zoo just eight months ago!

And their growth as they begin to explore their habitat four months later.
