Read to the Dog

Grades 2-8 without parent/caregiver

An opportunity for kids to read in a positive, non-threatening environment that encourages the love of reading by partnering with a therapy dog. Children will be scheduled to read individually to a therapy dog. However, it is possible that participants may be paired with another child due to last minute availability of dogs. Please contact Youth Services if you have questions regarding scheduling.

Participants may sign up for a timed session and are limited to 15 minutes per reader with sessions offered at 6:30, 6:45, 7, and 7:15 pm. Participants may only sign up for 2 time sessions during dates offered.

Parents/caregivers are not allowed in the room. Photos with the dogs will be allowed after the last session ends at 7:30 pm. Space is limited.  

If space is available, non-cardholders may register 3 days prior to the start of the event.
