Learn what a 3D printer is, how it works, how we got them, and how to prepare a 3D object for printing.

3D printing allows you to turn a 3D object file into a real-world object made of plastic. In this class, you'll learn the basics of 3D printers (what they are, how they work, how we got them, file formats, etc.), as well as how to prepare a 3D object file for printing, where to find printable 3D objects online, and what free software you can use to create your own 3D objects.

Please note that this class will not involve learning 3D modeling from scratch; for that, try our 3D Computer Aided Design class.
